The project has been divided into three sections – North, Central and South.
Allisons has won contracts for the Temporary and Permanent Fencing in the North Section.
- 35 km of Temporary Post and Wire completed
- 8 km of Permanent Post and 4 Rail completed
- 3 km of Permanent Post and Wire with another 90km to be installed
Allisons has installed temporary fencing across the North section of the AWPR project to allow the main contractor to carry out earthworks. The temporary fencing had to be installed quickly and efficiently. 35 kilometres were installed within 8 weeks including access gates at bell mouths and environmental fencing where required.
Allisons are currently installing the permanent fence in the North section which will provide a boundary between the new road system and surrounding land.
Result / Technical Details:
Working in close proximity to other contractors and dealing with hard ground conditions, which are present throughout, has proved challenging. The planning and organisation of plant movements and material layout have been vital to overcoming these challenges and meeting the weekly targets set out in the project program.
